Application Process

The application process for new students is defined fully in our Parent-Student Handbook (see downloadable documents).  Please refer to it for guidelines and procedures.

In short, the student application requires the following:

  1. Completed Corporation Membership (non-refundable fee, details follow)
  2. Completed Student Application for Admission
  3. Application fee of $150.00 (For families enrolling multiple children for the same school year, the following application fees will apply: 1st child - $150.00, 2nd child - $100.00, 3rd child - $50.00, 4th child - $0)  All fees are non-refundable.
  4. Copies of standardized test scores and report cards from the past two years (if applicable)
  5. Pastor's reference (returned by pastor)
  6. Birth certificate
  7. Copy of updated immunization record (details follow)
  8. Signed Parental Contract (back page of Application for Admission)
  9. Student screening/testing (scheduled with school office)
  10. Parent/family interview (scheduled with school office)

The Admissions Committee will schedule a family interview, which is an opportunity for the Board to ensure that the family and HRCA are a good fit.  Both parents should attend the interview.  All students (grade 1 and up) must take an entrance/screening exam, which is typically scheduled after the family interview.  A student's academic achievements will be considered in the application process, but only for grade placement, not as a primary determining factor for acceptance.  Again, we seek to enroll those students who, because of their own family's priorities, will most benefit from what HRCA can offer to them.

If the applicant is approved for enrollment, an acceptance letter will be mailed in May to the parents with a deadline of 15 days to secure the student’s seat with a non-refundable registration fee.  A summer packet will be mailed in June, which will contain the remaining documentation for the school:  tuition payment plan, supply list, emergency and medical forms, etc.

Students who are transferring into HRCA mid-year will undergo the same process, but at a quicker pace so that enrollment can begin promptly.

When a new student is accepted, a non-refundable registration fee of $300 for Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten or $400 for grades 1 and above is due within 15 days of acceptance.  Enrollment, and therefore the parents' financial obligation, is contracted to be for the full school year.
