As a private school, Haw River Christian Academy receives no government or organizational funding; therefore, the school must raise funds through donations, fundraising, and tuition in order to be self-sufficient. As a 501(c)3 non-profit institution, all donations to HRCA are eligible for a tax-deductible receipt.
HRCA coordinates three main fundraisers each year. We seek to target different participants and donors. Please consider how you would like to be involved and support HRCA each year!
Annual Fund (January-December)
The Annual Fund is designed to solicit donations to the school with donors having a choice in how their donations are directed for use. The four areas that we have developed include:
The Operational Fund (general, greatest need)
The Scholarship Fund (to enable us to reach like-minded families who desire HRCA, but cannot fully afford it)
The Arts Fund (to cover our growing art, music, and drama curriculum and supply needs)
The Library Fund (to expand our library collection and meet the literature needs of our curriculum and increasing grade levels).
The Annual Fund is not solely targeting enrolled families, who are already helping fund the school through tuition, but mainly their close friends and relatives who share the school’s vision and would want to support us if asked.
Spring Golf Classic at The Preserve in Chapel Hill
HRCA hosted its first golf tournament in 2008. Each year, we are blessed with golfers and sponsors who look forward to joining us in this wonderful, annual tradition.
Become a Sponsor - We seek organizations and businesses who would benefit from an easy and relatively inexpensive way to advertise. Various sponsorship levels are available. All sponsors are eligible for a tax-deductible receipt.
Sign up to Play - Individual players or teams of 4 are encouraged to enjoy 18 holes of golf with a cart, a goody bag, home-made goods, beverage cart tickets, a few contests along the way, a clubhouse lunch buffet, several raffle give-aways, and lots of exciting prizes!
Our annual walkathon is a fun and fit activity for our students. It is also a great way to involve them in a major fundraiser for the school and support a local Christian charity. It helps them learn how to set and reach a personal goal, use their presentation skills and manners, provide for families in need, plus exercise their bodies!
HRCA has selected the Salvation Army in Pittsboro to receive a check for 10% of the money raised. We arrange a way for the children to present the check to a representative of this organization soon after the event, so they can see the fruit of their efforts and learn what it means to give back a portion of which we receive.
