Our annual walkathon is a fun and fit activity for our students. It is also a great way to involve them in a major school fundraiser and support a local Christian charity. It helps them learn how to set and reach a personal goal, use their presentation skills and manners, provide for families in need, plus exercise their bodies!
HRCA has selected the Salvation Army in Pittsboro to receive a check for 10% of the money raised. We arrange a way for the children to present the check to a representative of this organization soon after the event, so they can see the fruit of their efforts and learn what it means to give back a portion of which we receive.
A Fall Festival is tied to the walkathon day. Festivities include games, crafts, and pizza!
